RAS AL KHAIMAH // A 16-year-old motorcyclist died on Wednesday night after a 4x4 vehicle crashed in to him, RAK Police said.

The accident took place in Adhan, an inland area of the emirate, when the car of Emirati A M A, 20, collided with the bike being driven by fellow Emirati S S A, who died at the scene.

Col Ahmed Al Naqbi, head of traffic and patrol department at RAK Police, said a report was received and patrol cars, ambulance and rescue teams moved immediately to the scene.

Preliminary investigations show that the biker was on the correct side of a two-way internal road when the 4x4 veered off course and hit him.

Col Al Naqbi sent his condolences to the family of the teenager and urged all motorists to abide by traffic rules and regulations and pay attention while driving.
