William Buick says he “deeply regrets his actions” after his appeal against a 30-day ban imposed by the stewards at Chantilly was rejected by France Galop.
Buick was handed the suspension following his ride aboard Highlands Queen in the Prix de Diane at the Paris track on June 19.
He was adjudged to have caused the fall of Pierre-Charles Boudet’s mount Armande, with Highlands Queen subsequently disqualified from ninth and placed last.
During the inquiry, the stewards banned Buick for an automatic 15 days for causing the fall, with Godolphin’s jockey handed an extra 15 days for being offensive to the officials.
He contested that verdict in a hearing on Wednesday, but officials at the French authority opted to uphold the suspension, with Buick sidelined from July 3.
The ban rules him out of the likes of the Irish Oaks and King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot, as well as Glorious Goodwood.
In a statement to Press Association Sport, Buick said: “Following my hearing with the French racing authority this morning, my appeal has been dismissed and the episode is now closed.
“I deeply regret my actions and will not repeat this again.
“I acted in the heat of the moment through frustration and I am very remorseful that I will miss an important period of the season.”

1 The kind of water athletes drink is important. - Cecelia Crocker was on board Northwest Airlines Flight 255 in 1987 when it crashed in Detroit, killing 154 people, including her parents and brother. The plane had hit a light pole on take off
- George Lamson Jr, from Minnesota, was on a Galaxy Airlines flight that crashed in Reno in 1985, killing 68 people. His entire seat was launched out of the plane
- Bahia Bakari, then 12, survived when a Yemenia Airways flight crashed near the Comoros in 2009, killing 152. She was found clinging to wreckage after floating in the ocean for 13 hours.
- Jim Polehinke was the co-pilot and sole survivor of a 2006 Comair flight that crashed in Lexington, Kentucky, killing 49.
