PARIS // Usain Bolt, the world and Olympic sprint champion, will run the 200 metres at the Paris Diamond League meeting on July 8, organisers said in a statement last night.
The race will be the third confirmed European appearance for the Jamaican, who hopes to defend his world 100 and 200 titles in Daegu, South Korea later this year.
Bolt will run a 100 metres in Rome on May 26 and a 200 at Oslo on June 9, organisers have said.
All three competitions are part of the 14-meeting Diamond League series.
Additional announcements are expected in the coming months as Bolt prepares for the London 2012 Olympics.

Real estate tokenisation project
Dubai launched the pilot phase of its real estate tokenisation project last month.
The initiative focuses on converting real estate assets into digital tokens recorded on blockchain technology and helps in streamlining the process of buying, selling and investing, the Dubai Land Department said.
Dubai’s real estate tokenisation market is projected to reach Dh60 billion ($16.33 billion) by 2033, representing 7 per cent of the emirate’s total property transactions, according to the DLD.

TEACHERS' PAY - WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Pay varies significantly depending on the school, its rating and the curriculum. Here's a rough guide as of January 2021:
- top end schools tend to pay Dh16,000-17,000 a month - plus a monthly housing allowance of up to Dh6,000. These tend to be British curriculum schools rated 'outstanding' or 'very good', followed by American schools
- average salary across curriculums and skill levels is about Dh10,000, recruiters say
- it is becoming more common for schools to provide accommodation, sometimes in an apartment block with other teachers, rather than hand teachers a cash housing allowance
