Du UAE FA Academy League ‘will change the face of football across the UAE’

The Du UAE FA Academy League (du UAE FAAL), kicked off this weekend as teams from clubs and academies across the country competed against each other.

On Thursday night, TFA and PSG contested the league’s opening match, with TFA emerging victorious 4-3.

Al Jazira and Al Ain, fierce rivals in the professional Arabian Gulf League, battled it out in Abu Dhabi and it was Al Ain who claimed the victory, courtesy of a David Guei goal.

At Zayed Sports City, Abu Dhabi Elite were comfortable winners against Legends, winning the match 8-1.

In Dubai, E-sports met Emirates Club with 14-year-old Jenya Zyulkovski scoring the opening goal to lead E-sports to a 4-1 win.

Elite Sports Academy beat FCB Escola 2-0, while Du LaLiga HPC met Al Ahli Club in the last match of the week, with Du LaLiga HPC claiming a 3-2 victory.

“This week we have seen our youth from academies and clubs meeting for the first time to play competitive matches at high levels in the nation’s official Academy League, which will change the face of football across the UAE,” Dr. Khalid Abdullah, Managing Director, Football Association Academy, said.

“We believe in the importance of this platform that will allow our youth to raise their level of football and strive to become professional football players.”
