Harry Redknapp could make the move to international management after all - with Russia

Celtic manager Neil Lennon admits the Glasgow club are keen to sign South Korean winger Kim Bo-Kyung.

The Osaka star has already been watched by the Scottish Premier League champions, and is also being tracked by Cardiff City.

But with Ki Sung-Yueng already at Parkhead, Lennon hopes to strengthen his Korean contingent by landing the 22-year-old, who has scored twice in 13 appearances for the national team.

Harry Redknapp could be in the frame for the Russian national coach's job, after being shortlisted for the vacant post.

The former Tottenham Hotspur manager - who has also been linked with a move to managing in the UAE Pro League - is one of 13 names on the shortlist announced by the Russia Football Union to replace Dick Advocaat.

And Redknapp appeared not to rule himself out of the running after admitting: "I haven't been contacted but I'm sure it's a fantastic job for someone."

Other names in the frame include Rafa Benitez, Sep Guardiola, Fabio Capello, Marcelo Biels, Yuri Semin and Marcello Lippi.

Schalke have dropped their interest in Tottenham midfielder Rafael van der Vaart, paving the way for a return to Hamburg for the Dutch star.

The German side had declared an interest in the 29-year-old, who is being shipped out by new manager Andre Villas-Boas, but admitted they were unable to agree terms on a move with the player.

"If we had really wanted to have him, then we would have got him," said club chief Clemens Tonnies.

"But it dodn't make any sense because we were miles apart."

Russian Premier League side Dynamo Moscow have signed former PSV Eindhoven midfielder Otman Bakkal on a three-year deal.

The 27-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Feyenoord, moves to Russia as a free agent after his contract with PSV.

"I was convinced that Dynamo is a very serious club from my very first contact with their representatives," Bakkal said. "What I've seen here on arrival lived up to my expectations completely."

New Swansea City pair Jose Manuel Flores and Jonathan de Guzman admit the chance to work under Michael Laudrup was a major lure in drawing them to the club.

Laudrup completed his first signings since replacing Brendan Rodgers at the Liberty Stadium, with defender Flores joining for £2m (Dh11.4m) while attacking midfielder De Guzman arrives from Villarreal on a season-long loan.

Both played under Laudrup during his time as boss of Mallorca.

"He was one of the main reasons I signed," said Fores. "He knows me as a person and a player, so I was honoured when the call came."

The Welsh side will have an option to make the loan deal for De Guzman permanent at the end of the season

Maxi Lopez looks set to join Italian side Sampdoria after the Genoa club reached an agreement to take the Argentinian striker on loan from Catania.

The former Barcelona player spent the latter half of last season on loan at AC Milan, scoring twice in 11 appearances.

The 28-year-old started his career with River Plate before earning a switch to Barcelona aged just 20, but has struggled to settle - joining Mallorca on loan before spells with Moscow and Gremio, then moving to Catania in 2010.
