Tottenham Hotspur will attempt to bolster their attacking options with moves for Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez and West Brom’s Saido Berahino, according to reports.
Spurs began the new season with Harry Kane as their only preferred senior striker, with manager Mauricio Pochettino keen to offload Roberto Soldado and Emmanuel Adebayor.
And according to the London Evening Standard, Pochettino will look to replace the outgoing forwards with Hernandez and Berahino.
Tottenham have been linked with both strikers for much of the summer, and talks with West Brom over Berahino are reportedly set to resume this week.
Spurs initially baulked at West Brom’s £25 million (Dh143m) asking price for Berahino, valuing the England international closer to the £15m mark.
The Standard reports that Spurs will re-enter negotiations and are prepared to increase their valuation.
Berahino is reportedly keen to join Tottenham, where he would link up with England under-21 teammate Kane.
Hernandez, meanwhile, is valued by United at £12m and is expected to leave Old Trafford this summer if the club can find a buyer.
Despite United’s own lack of forward options, the Mexico striker has been informed by Louis van Gaal that is future lies away from United.
West Ham are also reportedly interested in Hernandez, who spent last season on-loan at Real Madrid.
