Toast Of New York will attempt to become the first UAE Derby winner to win the Breeders’ Cup Classic after Jamie Osborne’s colt was among the pre-entries for next Saturday’s showpiece at Santa Anita.

Toast Of New York was a hugely impressive winner at Meydan Racecourse in March. He then finished sixth in the Belmont Derby Invitational Stakes in July before proving his ability to handle dirt when second to Shared Belief, the overwhelming favourite for the Classic, at Del Mar in August.

Osborne has stated that the 2015 Dubai World Cup, the first to be run on dirt at Meydan, is still on the cards for his stable flag-bearer.

Toast Of New York is not the only winner at Meydan last season set to make the trip to the Californian racecourse for the two-day meeting.

Rich Tapestry, the Mahab Al Shimaal victor, found only fellow Hong Kong raider Sterling City too good in the Dubai Golden Shaheen on World Cup night and is set to take his chance in the Breeders’ Cup Sprint.

Rich Tapestry has not been allowed to race on Lasix by the Hong Kong Jockey Club and will vie for favouritism with American sprinter Private Zone, who ran ninth in the 2013 Dubai Golden Shaheen for colourful owner Rene Douglas.

L’Amour De Ma Vie, trained in France by Pia Brandt, has not won in four starts since she won the Balanchine Stakes in February and has been entered both in the Filly & Mare Turf and the Distaff.

Trade Storm, the Meydan regular for David Simcock, will try to augment his victory in the Woodbine Mile in the Breeders’ Cup Mile.

There was a record 201 entries across the 13 races, with a bumper 38 entries from Europe, including Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid’s Mustajeeb in the Mile and Tarfasha in the Filly & Mare Turf.
