Thursday cover: Personal tragedy the driving force behind Olafia Kristinsdottir

Golfer Olafia Kristinsdottir makes the cover of The National Sport on Thursday, November 3, 2016 as she leads the inaugural Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies Open at Saadiyat Beach Golf Club by one stroke after the opening round.

The Ladies European Tour (LET) rookie from Iceland fired five birdies on the front nine and four more on the back stretch, but bogeyed the 14th, on Wednesday.

Kristinsdottir revealed after her round that she had to overcome personal tragedy to shoot a seven-under-par 65 after the death of her aunt on Tuesday to cancer.
