Shane Long scored in the 79th minute to rescue a point for Southampton as they played to a 2-2 draw with Newcastle United in a Premier League match on Sunday afternoon at St James Park.

Georginio Wijnaldum struck in the 48th minute for Newcastle as his side was aided by a first-half goal from Papiss Demba Cisse.

Graziano Pelle found the net for Southampton in the 24th minute.
