DUBAI // Al Wasl have begun the search for a sixth manager in 10 months following the decision not to make permanent the contract with Eid Baroot, the caretaker coach.
Baroot was expected to continue in the role he inherited from Frenchman Guy Lacombe in February, however the Emirati has signed an agreement with Emirates, the newly promoted Ras Al Khaimah club, for next season.
Baroot insisted the parting of ways was amicable, and said he is looking forward to the challenge of leading the Division One champions in their first campaign back in the Pro League.
"It was simply a difference in the things both parties wanted, where maybe they had a different view from me," said Baroot, who has led Wasl to 17 points from nine league matches. They currently sit ninth in the table.
"In the end I respect the club, who have supported me a lot since I came here," he added. "My contract was until the end of June and I knew that once the season was finished I could leave or stay. Everything was possible.
"My aim was to improve the team and we did that it - we stayed in a comfortable position in the league. There is no issue between the club and me. I respect the team, club and players, who in turn respect me. I wish them the best of luck."
Wasl are believed to have drawn up a list of potential candidates to replace Baroot, with Fathi Al Jebali, the Tunisian who has just lead Al Fateh to the Saudi Arabian championship, believed to be favourite for the role.
Sharjah hand Bonamigo the reins
Paolo Bonamigo has replaced the Egyptian Ayman Al Ramadi as coach of Sharjah, who have gained promotion to the Pro League.
The Brazilian has been out of job since he was dismissed by Al Jazira in February. He spent three seasons at Al Shabab before breaking his contract to move to Jazira.
