Alexis Sanchez’s dubious handball goal set Arsenal on road to victory over Hull City and Manolo Gabbiadini cannot stop scoring for Southampton.

Goalkeeper: Thibaut Courtois (Chelsea)

An outstanding save from Matt Lowton and a fine one from Andre Gray spared Chelsea a defeat at Turf Moor as they edged closer to the title.

Right-back: Nathaniel Clyne (Liverpool)

Combined superbly with Sadio Mane as their dominance on the right flank enabled Liverpool to overwhelm and overcome Tottenham Hotspur.

Centre-back: Alfie Mawson (Swansea City)

An unlikely scorer volleyed his third goal under Paul Clement in the style of a striker and also helped Swansea keep a clean sheet.

Centre-back: Harry Maguire (Hull City)

His reputation rises by the week and the Englishman excelled again as Hull were unlucky to lose at the Emirates Stadium.

Left-back: Ryan Bertrand (Southampton)

Got forward with great verve and effectiveness to help set up two goals in Southampton’s 4-0 rout of Sunderland.

Right midfield: Sadio Mane (Liverpool)

Jolted Liverpool out of a slump with a display of pace and incisiveness, with his quick-fire double securing victory against Spurs.

Centre midfield: Joe Allen (Stoke City)

Regained the scoring form he showed earlier in the season with a well-taken winner to settle a tight game with Crystal Palace.

Centre midfield: Manuel Lanzini (West Ham United)

Set up a goal, with a shot that hit the bar before Sofiane Feghouli scored, and then contributed another himself in the draw with West Bromwich Albion.

Left midfield: Anthony Martial (Manchester United)

Made a terrific return to the team, crossing for Juan Mata’s opener in the win over Watford and scoring the second himself.

Striker: Alexis Sanchez (Arsenal)

Yes, there was a hint of handball to his first goal, but Arsenal desperately needed a win and Sanchez, with a double against Hull, earned one.

Striker: Manolo Gabbiadini (Southampton)

What a start to his Southampton career. The Italian has scored three goals in two games, including Saturday’s double at the Stadium of Light.
