Peter Crouch scored the 99th league goal of his career in netting the winner in a 2-1 victory over Wolves.

Peter Crouch earned Stoke City a fourth successive win in the Premier League as they came from behind to triumph against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The England striker netted the 99th league goal of his career as Stoke achieved their first top-flight win at Molineux for 44 years at the 15th attempt.

Wolves went ahead through Stephen Hunt's penalty but an own goal from Kevin Doyle brought the Potters level after the break before Crouch decided the outcome.

Everton's luck in front of goal finally changed as Leon Osman's deflection earned them a late draw at home to Norwich City.

On numerous occasions this season the Toffees have dominated matches but failed to capitalise and this appeared to be another instance.

However, the introduction of on-loan Real Madrid midfielder Royston Drenthe for the last 20 minutes proved pivotal as it was his shot which Osman touched in.

Prior to that the day seemed set to belong to burly striker Grant Holt, for whom the city of Liverpool has been a happy hunting ground.

The Canaries captain, who grabbed the equaliser against the Reds across Stanley Park in October, made it a Merseyside double with his 28th-minute goal.

Blackburn Rovers were dispatched 2-1 by fellow strugglers West Bromwich Albion to increase the pressure on manager Steve Kean.

Scott Dann appeared to have rescued a point for troubled Rovers at Ewood Park when he prodded home from close range following good work from fellow defender Christopher Samba.

But West Brom, who had opened the scoring through a magnificent James Morrison volley, saw Peter Odemwingie fire a late winner.

Kean is fighting to save his job and the defeat will have heightened opposition towards him from disgruntled fans.

Newcastle United 0 Swansea City 0

Demba Ba was denied a 12th goal of the season by both the woodwork and Swansea City goalkeeper Michel Vorm as Newcastle United's hopes of a first win in five league games were dashed.

The Senegal international fired against an upright after captain Fabricio Coloccini had earlier hit the other post and then saw Vorm react brilliantly to turn away his 42nd-minute volley as the Magpies threatened to run riot before the break.

Winger Jonas Gutierrez also came within inches of a superb opener with the visitors desperately trying to repel tide after tide of attacks.

But on an afternoon when the Magpies paid tribute to former midfielder Gary Speed, they could not mark the occasion with a victory in front of a crowd of 51,767.
