Palombo set to replace injured De Rossi



Daniele De Rossi, the Italy midfielder, has been ruled out of tonight's qualifier against Serbia in Genoa with a minor leg muscle injury.

Sampdoria's Angelo Palombo is likely to take De Rossi's place for the game, where a win against the Serbs would keep Italy top of Group C with 10 points from four games.

Fifa do their homework on technology 

Fifa is studying 13 different goal-line technology systems which could help match officials make more accurate decisions. Football's world governing body said that all the proposals will be discussed by its rule-making body, the International Football Association Board. Law changes can be made in March.

We're not here to lose, warns Ibrahimovic 

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has told Holland that Sweden have "come to win" when the sides clash in Amsterdam tonight. Sweden can join the Dutch at the top of Group E with a victory and Ibrahimovic, who played for Ajax, said: "Do we have a chance of qualifying if we lose?
