The third edition of UFC Fight Island is nearly here as Abu Dhabi prepares to host three events over the next week.
First up, on Saturday, is the UFC Fight Night show headlined by the featherweight bout between former champion Max Holloway and sixth-ranked Calvin Kattar.
That will be followed on Wednesday by another UFC Fight Night event, with the welterweight clash between Michael Chiesa and Neil Magny.
Then there's the big one next Saturday, January 24 when former two-time champion Conor McGregor makes his long-awaited return to the Octagon to face Dustin Poirier at UFC 257.
Hosting the latest instalment of Fight Island will be the brand new Etihad Arena – an 18,000-seater stadium, making it the largest indoor entertainment venue in the Middle East.
Ahead of Saturday night's first UFC show, The National were given a tour of the Etihad Arena to see how it is shaping up. There will be around 2,000 fans at each UFC event, marking the first time spectators will be present at a UFC show in almost a year.
