The fifth staging of the FBMA International Show Jumping Cup kicked off its first day of events on Thursday at the Al Forsan International Sports Resort with the first winners crowned. A total of 147 show jumpers and 180 horses from 25 countries are taking part in six categories of show jumping events on Thursday, making the three-day competition the largest FBMA International Show Jumping Cup to date. The day began with a CSI Children’s class (CSICh) for riders aged 12-14 years-old, which saw eight riders compete. The first category was won by Emirati rider Saif Awaida Mohammed Al Kirbi. Second and third places in this category went to Eisa Al Owais, also from UAE, who achieved impressive times on two different horses. The second round – CSIJ class- with a total of 28 riders, saw first prize go to Emirati Omar Abdalla Al Owais. Second and third were taken by compatriots Ali Hamad Al Kirbi and Sultan Majed Al Awani. The third category round- the Ladies National Show, saw first prize won by Malika Cora Faber. Second place went to Cyndi Jamila Faber, with third claimed by Shreya Radia.
