The Abu Dhabi Sports Council on Tuesday announced further easing of restrictions on sporting activities.
Aquatic sports and swimming at public and private clubs, individual training in martial arts and self defence at private clubs, and individual training for kids under 12 in five disciplines are now allowed.
Kids under 12 can undertake individual training in tennis, cricket, cycling, golf and equestrian sports. However, all activities must adhere to ADSC's safety measures, including periodic sterilisation.
Earlier last month, gyms in Abu Dhabi opened after being closed for more than three months.
From July 1, gyms around the capital started opening their doors, but with a list of conditions from the government. Visitors and instructors are required to adhere to social distancing of at least two metres, carry sanitiser and train alone if they are not taking part in a group session.
The rules also state that all guests and staff should have their temperature taken before and during training sessions, and wear masks and gloves at all times.
Gyms in Dubai, meanwhile, were allowed to reopen at the end of May, and some are now back to 100 per cent capacity.
