BARCELONA // Defender Jordi Alba has agreed a contact extension with Barcelona.
The Spain international’s new deal ties him to Barca until June 2020 and includes a new buy-out clause of €150 million (Dh108.1 billion). Barca said Alba is to sign his new contract in the coming days.
The 26-year-old full-back joined from Valencia for €14m in 2012 and has helped Barca win four trophies in his time at Camp Nou, including Primera Liga and the Copa del Rey this season.

Barca also have the chance to clinch the treble this weekend when they face Juventus in the Uefa Champions League final.
“After three seasons at Barcelona, Jordi Alba will continue at the club until 2010,” the club said in a statement.
“The left-back, 26, has this season won La Liga and the Copa del Rey, which adds to another league title in the 2012/13 season – his first at Barca – and the 2013/14 Spanish Supercopa.
“Barcelona have arrived at an agreement with Jordi Alba for the renewal of his contract until the 30th of June, 2020.
“His buyout clause will be €150 million. He will sign the contract in the coming days.”
Alba was released by the Barca youth academy but went on to prove himself at Valencia before he was brought back in 2012.
He has since thrived in Barca’s quick-passing system with his pace and ability to attack down the left wing. He had two years to run on his existing deal.
