Is this the best way to encourage clubs to keep out of debt? After a long and grueling season, the reward of European competition at the end of it not only offers players the chance to test themselves against a better calibre of opponent, but helps clubs generate extra income from match days. Obviously the best way to run a business is to keep debts to a minimum, but is the best way to punish a club for getting into debt to block their chance to earn more money to tackle their problems?
