The UAE national football team make their way onto The National Sport front page on Friday, September 4, after thrashing Malaysia 10-0 in their 2018 World Cup qualifying match.
The victory extended the UAE’s perfect start in their second-round qualification group, having defeated East Timor in their opening encounter.
Next up for Mahdi Ali’s men is a trip to Palestine.
The National’s John McAuley was at the Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium to watch the match. He wrote: “98 places separate these two sides in Fifa’s global rankings, but on Thursday night, they were clearly worlds apart.”
