Zamalek manager Khaled Galal has paid for defeat in the Cairo derby to bitter rivals Al Ahly with his job.
Egyptian Premier League champions Ahly ran out 1-0 winners thanks to a Ali Maaloul goal at Borg El Arab in Alexandria on Sunday.
Just hours after the final whistle, Zamalek president Mortada Mansour announced the sacking of Galal and his backroom staff as well as making team captain Mohamed Ibrahim available for transfer.
Galal's second stint in charge of the Cairo giants lasted only four matches. He was brought in to replace the Swiss Christian Gross, who parted ways with the club on May 31.
Zamalek picked up five points from a possible 12 under Galal to finish eight points behind champions Ahly. Mansour said the search for Gala's replacement is under way.
Ibrahim, 27, had announced earlier that he will leave at the end of the season. He has made 185 appearances for the club across two spells, helping Zamalek to win five Egypt Cups, one Egypt Super Cup, and one CAF Confederation Cup, as well as guiding them to the CAF Champions League final in 2016. He has won seven caps for the Pharaohs.
