Aston Villa may be struggling to keep their head above water in the Premier League, but Dean Smith's side can look forward to a trip to Wembley after securing a place in the Carabao Cup final.
"A goal made in Egypt" was how manager Dean Smith described Villa's winner after substitutes Trezeguet and Ahmed Elmohamady combined in injury time to lead the club to a dramatic 2-1 win against Leicester City at Villa Park on Tuesday.
Manchester City meet Manchester United at the Etihad in the second leg of the other semi-final on Wednesday, with City leading 3-1 from the first leg.
Jack Grealish, an integral part of the side that clinched promotion last season via the Championship play-off, has again proved a vital cog for the Claret and Blues this term, and was in fine form as Villa beat the Foxes 3-2 on aggregate.
But it may surprise you to know that the 24-year-old Villa captain is not the highest paid player at the Midlands club, who currently sit 16th in the Premier League, two points above relegation.
Above is a photo gallery of 19 Aston Villa players and their weekly salaries, according to Spotrac, an online sports team and player contract website.
One disclaimer is that these figures were recorded at the start of the 2019/20 season, and do not include the whole Villa squad such as summer signings Wesley, the wonderfully named Marvelous Nakamba, or even Tuesday night's hero Trezeguet.
They also do not reflect any improved contracts, if any, signed by Aston Villa players since the start of the 2019/20 campaign.
