Tanguy Ndombele took part in training ahead of Tottenham's must-win Champions League clash against RB Leipzig with his manager's criticisms still ringing in his ears.
Jose Mourinho did not hold back when assessing the club's record signing and his performance in the 1-1 draw against Burnley on Saturday.
The French midfielder was replaced at half time following a poor show at Turf Moor with Spurs trialing to a Chris Wood goal.
"In the first half we didn’t have a midfield," Mourinho said after the match. "Of course I’m not speaking of [Oliver] Skipp because he’s a kid of 19 who’s played two hours in the last few days. I don’t criticise him at all.
"But I’m not going to run away and I have to say [Ndombele] has had enough time to come to a different level. I know the Premier League is difficult, and some players take a long time to adapt to a different league. But a player with his potential has to give us more than he is giving us ... I was expecting more in the first half from him. He has to know he has to do much better and know I cannot keep giving him opportunities to play because the team is much more important."
Spurs trail Leipzig 1-0 from the first leg at home last month and will need to call on the spirit of last season when some epic performances in the knockout stages saw them reach a first Champions League final last June.
