It was another action-packed weekend in the Premier League, concluding with Manchester City's emphatic win over rivals Manchester United on Sunday.

Before that heavyweight tussle at the Etihad Stadium, the 12th round of fixtures began at Cardiff City who collected a valuable win over 10-man Brighton and Hove Albion.

It was honours even between Huddersfield Town and West Ham United, and Southampton and Watford, while Leicester City' first home match since the death of owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha ended in a goalless draw with Burnley.

There was plenty to celebrate at St James' Park as Salomon Rondon scored twice to lift Newcastle United past Bournemouth and out of the bottom three.

In Saturday's late game, young defender Juan Foyth scored his first goal for Tottenham Hotspur in the 1-0 win at Crystal Palace.

A packed Sunday fixture list began with Liverpool easing to victory over bottom side Fulham, before Chelsea were frustrated in a goalless draw against Everton.

Arsenal recovered from a goal down to draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers, while City pressed home their dominance with a 3-1 victory over rivals United.
