Real Madrid train in Miami as post-Ronaldo era begins with pre-season tour - in pictures

Real Madrid have begun their pre-season preparations in the United States with a training session at Florida International University in Miami.

The reigning European and world champions went through their paces on a rainy day ahead of their first pre-season game against Premier League club Manchester United on Tuesday in the International Champions Cup.

After that match at Miami's Hard Rock Stadium, Madrid will travel to Maryland where they face Italian champions Juventus on Saturday, although a potential reunion with Cristiano Ronaldo is unlikely.

Ronaldo, who left Madrid this summer after nine years in which he became the club's all-time record goalscorer, has not joined Juventus on their pre-season tour of the United States.

The Portuguese forward, along with many of Juve's World Cup players, reported for training in Turin on Sunday and will take part in a private session on Monday.

For former club Madrid, they will conclude their trip to the States next Tuesday against another Italian club in Roma.
