Richard Jolly’s picks for Premier League Team of the Week, with Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and Watford each boasting two players.

Goalkeeper: Artur Boruc (Bournemouth)

Kept a clean sheet with few alarms as Bournemouth’s solidity gave them the basis for a first win of the season, against West Bromwich Albion.

Right-back: Kyle Walker (Tottenham Hotspur)

Committed and impressive defensively, the England international also surged forward to set up Dele Alli’s goal in the 4-0 thrashing of Stoke City.

Centre-back: Laurent Koscielny (Arsenal)

Few centre-backs score bicycle kicks. Koscielny did as he marked his birthday in style with Arsenal’s equaliser against Southampton.

Centre-back: Nicolas Otamendi (Manchester City)

Earned Pep Guardiola’s praise with some genuinely penetrative passing from deep to help defeat Manchester United.

Left-back: Jose Holebas (Watford)

Completed the comeback at the London Stadium with a well-struck fourth goal as Watford won for the first time this campaign.

Right midfield: Sadio Mane (Liverpool)

The Senegalese’s superb start to his Liverpool career continued with a goal and an assist in the 4-1 thrashing of Leicester City.

Centre midfield: Jordan Henderson (Liverpool)

Settling into the holding midfield role. His wonderful through ball to Daniel Sturridge led to Liverpool’s second goal.

Centre midfield: Kevin de Bruyne (Manchester City)

Scored one goal, set up another and was the best player on the pitch in a dramatic, emphatic Manchester derby.

Left midfield: Son Heung-min (Tottenham Hotspur)

The South Korean did not take the field in Spurs’ first three games. He made his mark in the fourth, scoring twice at Stoke.

Centre forward: Troy Deeney (Watford)

The captain’s perfectly weighted chip brought the Hornets level against West Ham. It was an exquisite finish.

Centre forward: Diego Costa (Chelsea)

A double at Swansea City showed how the Spaniard looks rejuvenated this season. His second, a spectacular overhead kick, was brilliant.
