Mohamed Salah headlines Egypt squad for 2019 Africa Cup of Nations

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah headlines the 23-man Egypt squad after Mexican manager Javier Aguirre named his squad for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations on Tuesday.

The 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) takes place in Egypt this summer with 24 teams vying to be crowned kings of the continent.

Salah, 26, enjoyed another stellar season at Liverpool, scoring 22 league goals as the Reds finished a point behind Manchester City in the Premier League title race while scoring from the penalty spot in the 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur to secure the Uefa Champions League trophy in Madrid on June 1.

The tournament will be held from June 21 to July 19, with six venues to be used.
