Goalkeeper: David de Gea (Manchester United)

While United finally conceded after 642 minutes, De Gea made more invaluable saves in their victory at Watford.

Right-back: Danny Simpson (Leicester)

Bright going forward and helped Leicester keep a clean sheet in their dominant display at Newcastle as they went top of the table.

Centre-back: Toby Alderweireld (Tottenham)

Won his duel with Andy Carroll and showed his aerial expertise at the other end by heading in Tottenham’s second goal in their win over West Ham.

Centre-back: Jonas Olsson (West Bromwich Albion)

Arsenal dominated possession but only scored once at the Hawthorns. Olsson’s defiant defending was a reason why.

Left-back: Erik Pieters (Stoke City)

Played his part as frugal Stoke shut Southampton out and provided the cross for Bojan Krkic’s winner at St Mary’s.

Right midfield: Gerard Deulofeu (Everton)

Ran riot on the right wing as Everton demolished Aston Villa 4-0. Others got the goals, but the Spaniard was the star man.

Centre midfield: Emre Can (Liverpool)

The all-action German helped Liverpool dominate the midfield as they overwhelmed Manchester City en route to a 4-1 victory.

Centre midfield: James Morrison (West Bromwich Albion)

The Scotland international’s superbly taken equaliser against Arsenal set Albion on course of their best result of the season.

Left midfield: Philippe Coutinho (Liverpool)

In magical form and combined brilliantly with his fellow Brazilian Roberto Firmino in Liverpool’s landmark win away at Manchester City.

Centre forward: Jamie Vardy (Leicester)

Equalled Ruud van Nistelrooy’s Premier League record by scoring in a 10th successive game. Vardy’s pace and directness was too much for Newcastle.

Centre forward: Harry Kane (Tottenham)

Took his tally to seven goals in four league games with a well-taken brace as Tottenham put West Ham to the sword in a derby triumph.
