The 2018/19 Premier League season reached its conclusion on Sunday as Manchester City became the first team in a decade to successfully defend the title.

Pep Guardiola's side needed a win at Brighton & Hove Albion to retain the trophy, such was the relentless pace set by themselves and runners-up Liverpool.

Such was the brilliance of both teams - Liverpool ended the campaign 25 points ahead of third-placed Chelsea and with the third-highest points total in Premier League history - it was no surprise to see the Team of the Season dominated by these two sides.

However, looking beyond the title race, there were a number of exceptional individual campaigns from players outside the so-called 'Big Six'.

With that in mind, Richard Jolly has selected his 'Best of the Rest' team of the season comprising players from clubs outside the top six in the photo gallery above.
