The English Premier League opening weekend continued with two exciting matches on Sunday, August 17, 2014.

Liverpool proved they can still find the net despite the exit of last year's leading scorer Luis Suarez. Raheem Sterling and Daniel Sturridge each tallied in a 2-1 win over Southampton. Click here to read Richard Jolly's report from Anfield

In the other match, David Silva converted in the first half and then Sergio Aguero made it official in injury time as the reigning league champions rolled past Newcastle United 2-0.

The action continues Monday as Chelsea will visit Premier League newcomer Burnley at 11pm (UAE time).
