Hazard leads Chelsea to fourth straight win, Man United bounce back at Burnley: Premier League predictions

Manchester City will also return to winning ways while Liverpool are held at Leicester City, according to this week's predictions

Leicester City 1 Liverpool 1 Why? After the opening day defeat to Manchester United, Leicester have impressed with back-to-back wins, while Liverpool top the table after three successive victories. However, Jurgen Klopp’s side were pushed all the way by Crystal Palace and Brighton & Hove Albion, and will find it tough on their trip to the King Power Stadium. Points shared. AP Photo

Brighton & Hove Albion 2 Fulham 2 Why? Fulham picked up their first win since being promoted by hammering Burnley last time out and sit one place above Brighton in the table on goal difference. Two evenly matched sides should cancel each other out. Getty Images

Chelsea 3 Bourenmouth 1 Why? Chelsea have enjoyed a perfect start to the season, but their defensive issues almost cost them in their narrow win at Newcastle United. Eden Hazard was head and shoulders above the rest at St James’ Park and will again lead his side to victory over a Bournemouth team yet to taste defeat this season. AP Photo

Crystal Palace 2 Southampton 0 Why? Despite successive defeats in their past two games to Liverpool and Watford, Palace have played some good football, while Southampton have struggled so far this season. Wilfried Zaha should be the difference maker at Selhurst Park. Reuters

Everton 1 Huddersfield Town 0 Why? Having led 2-0 at Bournemouth only to draw 2-2, Everton will be determined to register their second win of the season. Huddersfield are still searching for their first victory and will come up short when they travel to Goodison Park. Reuters

West Ham United 1 Wolverhampton Wanderers 1 Why? After a summer of optimism caused by their hefty outlay on new players, West Ham have failed to deliver on the pitch and are the only club yet to pick up a point. Manchester City 3 Newcastle United 0 Why? Newcastle dug in deep against Chelsea and Rafa Benitez is sure to adopt the same setup when he takes his side to the Etihad Stadium. City may have drawn at Wolves last time out but will have few problems picking up the victory against a limited Newcastle side. AFP

Cardiff City 1 Arsenal 3 Why? Arsenal are very much a work in progress under new manager Unai Emery but a first win of the season last week against West Ham is sure to bolster morale. Arsenal have looked good going forward but are susceptible at the back. No clean sheet but a comfortable win nonetheless. Getty Images

Burnley 0 Manchester United 2 Why? It’s been another week of scrutiny for Manchester United and their manager Jose Mourinho after their heavy defeat against Tottenham at Old Trafford. United were the better side in the first half and will have too much quality for a Burnley team struggling to juggle Europa League commitments with domestic duties. EPA

Watford 0 Tottenham Hotspur 1 Why? Watford have caught many people by surprise with their fast start to the season and are level on points with Chelsea, Liverpool and Sunday’s opponents Tottenham at the top end of the table. The Premier League kicks into gear on Saturday for the fourth round of fixtures. All 20 teams are in action and will be aiming to head into the international break with that winning feeling.

Leicester City welcome Liverpool to the King Power Stadium in the first match of the weekend (kick-off 3.30pm UAE time on Saturday), with Tottenham Hotspur travelling to Watford on Sunday evening (7pm) to conclude the round.
