Christian Pulisic underlined why Chelsea have high hopes in Christian Pulisic as he scored twice in Chelsea's 5-3 win against Red Bull Salzburg on Wednesday.
Pulisic, was signed from Borussia Dortmund in January, and then loaned back to the Bundesliga side until the end of the 2018/19 season.
The 20-year-old American has been a regular in pre-season but made his mark for the Premier League side with two goals inside eight minutes midway through the first half.
Ross Barkley, with a penalty, Pedro and Michy Batshuayi were also on the scoresheet for the London side, whose only frustration was considering two late goals.
Manager Frank Lampard praised Pulisic and said: "I was very impressed with the way that he took the goals.
"As a winger in the Premier League he has to adapt to that league. He is young but with huge potential and I am happy for him."
Of Chelsea's performance, as they prepare for the start of the new season on August 11 with an away game at Manchester United, Lampard said: "Some really good play from us, some good goals, good combinations.
"Great attacking of the line from front men and wingers, which is a huge thing for me, and obviously conceding some goals with some sloppy moments from us."
