Diego Costa and his Atletico Madrid teammates were put through their paces on Friday as they prepare for their final pre-season friendly before their La Liga title challenge begins.

Manager Diego Simeone oversaw the training session in Madrid. They take on Juventus, the Serie A champions, at the Friends Arena in Stockholm, Sweden, on Saturday.

Atletico have had an excellent pre-season so far, winning all five games to date.

That included a 7-3 win over city rivals Real in New York, with Costa showing the best and worst of his game as he netted four times, then got himself sent off in an off-the-ball incident.

Juventus will likely feature Cristiano Ronaldo in their line-up.

The game is scheduled to begin at 8.05pm UAE time.

Atletico begin their La Liga challenge on August 18 at home to Getafe.
