Goalkeeper: Artur Boruc (Bournemouth)

Made a fine penalty save to deny Leicester’s Riyad Mahrez and ensure Bournemouth’s 10 men took a point at the King Power Stadium.

Right-back: Bacary Sagna (Manchester City)

Supplied the inch-perfect cross for Sergio Aguero’s headed winner in City’s comeback against Watford.

Centre-back: Laurent Koscielny (Arsenal)

Has a habit of scoring important goals and got another to earn a below-par Arsenal side victory against Newcastle.

Centre-back: Jonny Evans (West Bromwich Albion)

Popped up with the late winner to give manager Tony Pulis a win against his former club Stoke at the Hawthorns.

Left-back: Aaron Cresswell (West Ham)

Provided some excellent crosses as he raided forward intelligently against Liverpool. He helped West Ham keep a clean sheet, too.

Right midfield: Willian (Chelsea)

Chelsea’s player of the season had another memorable match as he scored with a superb, swerving shot and then set up Diego Costa’s goal.

Centre midfield: Alex Tettey (Norwich)

The Norwegian got in-form Norwich a third victory in four games with a crisp finish to see off Southampton.

Centre midfield: Dele Alli (Tottenham)

His superb season continued with a lovely volley in a man-of-the-match display against Everton at Goodison Park.

Left midfield: Anthony Martial (Manchester United)

Scored one goal and made another to end Manchester United’s nine-match wait for a win against Swansea.

Striker: Diego Costa (Chelsea)

Looks the player of last season again. A goal and an assist against Crystal Palace means he has scored three times in two games under Guus Hiddink.

Striker: Andy Carroll (West Ham)

Inevitably, he scored against his former club Liverpool. A towering header showed the strengths that once made him a £35 million player.
