Chelsea's super-sub joins Manchester City midfield pair: Premier League team of the week

The latest weekend in the Premier League proved monumental as Manchester United's surprise defeat at home against bottom side West Bromwich Albion delivered the title to rivals Manchester City.

The newly-crowned champions rounded off Saturday by comfortably beating Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley, after Liverpool took a big step toward securing a top-four place with a 3-0 win over Bournemouth.

There were wins for Crystal Palace and Huddersfield Town in their bids to avoid relegation, while Burnley continued their charge to a Europa League place with victory over Leicester City. Swansea City claimed what could prove a valuable point at home against Everton.

In the first match of the weekend, deposed champions Chelsea mounted a stirring comeback to defeat Southampton and keep alive their slim top four hopes.

In Sunday's early match, Arsenal continued their wretched away from with a defeat at Newcastle United.
