Goalkeeper: Darren Randolph (West Ham United)
Made a string of saves to deny Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba and earn West Ham a point at Old Trafford.
Right-back: Victor Moses (Chelsea)
One of the unlikely stories of the season, the man reinvented as a wingback scored the winner to end Tottenham’s unbeaten start to the season.
Centre-back: Virgil van Dijk (Southampton)
Again looked a player bound for a bigger club to ensure his former manager Ronald Koeman’s return to St Mary’s was miserable.
Centre-back: Bruno Martins Indi (Stoke City)
A rock at the back, making a series of clearances, as Stoke kept a clean sheet at Vicarage Road to pull away from the relegation zone.
Left-back: James Milner (Liverpool)
Kept up his 100 per cent record from the penalty spot this season and kept on running as his persistence helped Liverpool see off Sunderland.
Right midfield: Josh Sims (Southampton)
Emerged from anonymity impressively, setting up Charlie Austin’s winner on his Premier League debut and illustrating his dribbling skills.
Centre midfield: Fernandinho (Manchester City)
Sergio Aguero got the goals but stand-in captain Fernandinho set up his winner at Burnley and offered leadership and dynamism.
Centre midfield: Leroy Fer (Swansea City)
Swansea’s surprise top scorer added a brace in their 5-4 victory over Crystal Palace to earn a first win since the opening day.
Left midfield: Eden Hazard (Chelsea)
Looked the most inventive player on the pitch at Stamford Bridge. His excellence was particularly telling in the second half on Saturday.
Striker: Fernando Llorente (Swansea City)
Came off the bench to play a part in four goals and score two in injury time to secure Bob Bradley’s maiden win in utterly improbable fashion.
Striker: Alexis Sanchez (Arsenal)
Elusive, electric, he led the Bournemouth defence a merry dance and scored twice to get Arsenal a belated win in their bogey month, November.
