BARCELONA // Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets has indicated he could be tempted by Pep Guardiola to join Manchester City.
Former Barca manager Guardiola is taking charge at City from the summer and the club have been linked with Busquets by reports in the English media.
The 27-year-old defensive midfielder came through Barcelona’s youth ranks and has made over 300 senior appearances for the club. He has a contract with them until 2019 and has expressed his desire to stay but also says Guardiola, who gave Busquets his Barca first-team breakthrough, could change his mind about that, adding he would be “honoured” to work with the coach again.

Buried by Barcelona, Gary Neville resolute in digging Valencia back out
“I have always said there are just two people who could make me change my decision to stay at Barcelona,” the Spain international told ESPN.
“One of those two people is my wife. The other person is Guardiola. It’s clear that I owe Pep a lot and I would be honoured to work with him again.”
Busquets did suggest it was unlikely Guardiola would try to take him away from Barca. “He knows that Barcelona are my club and it’s his club as well,” Busquets said. “He knows it’s best for the club and for me to stay here and I don’t think he will ask me to leave Barcelona.
“I hope that when I end my career, I go down in history as a great team player, who won titles and excelled. I want to become one of the players with the most games for Barcelona.”
Meanwhile, Barca manager Luis Enrique refused to give any hints about his line-up for tonight’s Copa del Rey semi-final second leg against Valencia.
Barcelona lead 7-0 from the first leg which should give Luis Enrique the chance to rest players including forward Lionel Messi, who is having treatment for kidney problems.
“We have prepared for the match in the same way as if we didn’t have the result of the first leg,” Enrique said. “I haven’t got anything to say with regards to Messi. Tomorrow I will give the list, as always. Our objective remains the same: to be better than our rivals. We forget about the first-leg result.”

Quick pearls of wisdom
Focus on gratitude: And do so deeply, he says. “Think of one to three things a day that you’re grateful for. It needs to be specific, too, don’t just say ‘air.’ Really think about it. If you’re grateful for, say, what your parents have done for you, that will motivate you to do more for the world.”
Know how to fight: Shetty married his wife, Radhi, three years ago (he met her in a meditation class before he went off and became a monk). He says they’ve had to learn to respect each other’s “fighting styles” – he’s a talk it-out-immediately person, while she needs space to think. “When you’re having an argument, remember, it’s not you against each other. It’s both of you against the problem. When you win, they lose. If you’re on a team you have to win together.”

Two-step truce
The UN-brokered ceasefire deal for Hodeidah will be implemented in two stages, with the first to be completed before the New Year begins, according to the Arab Coalition supporting the Yemeni government.
By midnight on December 31, the Houthi rebels will have to withdraw from the ports of Hodeidah, Ras Issa and Al Saqef, coalition officials told The National.
The second stage will be the complete withdrawal of all pro-government forces and rebels from Hodeidah city, to be completed by midnight on January 7.
The process is to be overseen by a Redeployment Co-ordination Committee (RCC) comprising UN monitors and representatives of the government and the rebels.
The agreement also calls the deployment of UN-supervised neutral forces in the city and the establishment of humanitarian corridors to ensure distribution of aid across the country.
