New signing Antoine Griezmann was among the Barcelona players who took part in a pre-match reception with representatives of Chelsea ahead of their match in Japan on Tuesday.

Griezmann was joined by fellow Barcelona new boys Frenkie de Jong and Hiroki Abe as well as his other teammates to pose for pictures in Tokyo ahead of Tuesday's Rakuten Cup clash in Saitama.

Representing Chelsea was new manager Frank Lampard and chairman Bruce Buck.

The match revives memories of classic matches between the two teams, with Lampard part of the Chelsea squad that saw off Barca over a two-legged semi-final on their way to winning the 2012 Uefa Champions League title.

La Liga champions Barca are missing several key players due to their involvement in the Copa America. Ernesto Valverde has given extended leave to the likes of Lionel Messi, Philippe Coutinho and Luis Suarez.

Europa League champions Chelsea are also without Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Willian and Antonio Rudiger as they continue their rehabilitation from long-term injuries while French midfielder N'Golo Kante has returned to England for further treatment on a knee complaint.

The match kicks off at 2.30pm UAE.
