Premier League predictions: Spurs stay up as West Ham are relegated

Sunday: Brighton v Manchester United (All kick-offs 7pm UAE)

Brighton's loss at Leeds was their second defeat in three games, leaving them in seventh place and needing a victory to secure European football next season.

United's win over Nottingham Forest means they have taken 13 points from a possible 15, which has clinched them third spot in the table. On Friday, the club confirmed Michael Carrick had signed a two-year deal to become permanent manager.

Prediction: Brighton 2 Man United 2

Burnley v Wolves

The battle at the bottom pits Burnley – who have the top-flight's worst home record - against Wolves, who are the worst away. The Clarets have won just one of their past 27 league games.

Wolves, two points behind Burnley, have scored the fewest goals in the division this season (26) while the Clarets have conceded the most (74). A dreadful campaign for both clubs.

Prediction: Burnley 1 Wolves 1

Crystal Palace v Arsenal

Palace manager Oliver Glasner goes into his penultimate match in charge having gone winless in six league games and with a Uefa Conference league final clash against Rayo Vallecano three days away.

Manchester City's draw with Bournemouth on Tuesday ended Arsenal's 22-year wait for the league title as they enjoy a four-point advantage going into the final game. The Gunners are looking to make it five league wins on the spin ahead of next week's Uefa Champions League final against holders Paris Saint-Germain.

Prediction: Palace 1 Arsenal 2

Fulham v Newcastle

Both clubs are level on 49 points – Fulham look set to just miss out on a European place. Fulham have managed just one win in six while manager Marco Silva's contract is up in the summer and his future still unclear.

Newcastle have taken seven points from a possible nine, including 3-1 wins over Brighton and West Ham, but even victory in West London will not be enough for the Magpies to scrape into the Uefa Conference League next season.

Prediction: Fulham 1 Newcastle 3

Liverpool v Brentford

Mohamed Salah is set for his final game for Liverpool – unless manager Arne Slot decides the Egyptian's criticism of team tactics warrants being banished from the squad. The fifth-placed Merseysiders have taken just one point from their previous three games.

Brentford's home draw with Crystal Palace leaves them in ninth place and very much in the mix for a first appearance in continental competition next season. The Bees are level on points with Chelsea in eighth, who occupy the final spot that guarantees Uefa Conference League football.

Prediction: Liverpool 2 Brentford 1

Manchester City v Aston Villa

City's draw at Bournemouth ended their title hopes this season with this match to be manager Pep Guardiola's final game in charge after 10 trophy-laden years.

Villa go into the game on the back of Wednesday's Europa League final win against Freiburg. Their 4-2 win over Liverpool last Friday had already guaranteed Champions League football next season.

Prediction: Man City 3 Villa 0

Nottingham Forest v Bournemouth

Forest's loss at Manchester United was their first in the league since March 1 following an beaten run that has secured their top-flight status. The match could well be midfielder Elliot Anderson's final bow before a big-money summer move.

Bournemouth's magnificent unbeaten run now stands at 17 matches with manager Andoni Iraola set to leave the sixth-placed club having secured European football for next term. Whether that is Champions League or Europa League remains to be seen.

Prediction: Forest 1 Bournemouth 2

Sunderland v Chelsea

Sunderland can still qualify for Europe, although they need other results to go their way. The Black Cats are currently 10th but could finish as high as seventh with last week's win at Everton their first victory in four matches.

Chelsea are one point and two places above Sunderland following their midweek win over Spurs as they look to guarantee incoming manager Xabi Alonso will have European competition to compete in next season.

Prediction: Sunderland 2 Chelsea 2

Tottenham Hotspur v Everton

Spurs go into the game knowing one point will be enough to avoid relegation as they sit two points above West Ham while enjoying a vastly superior goal difference over their London rivals.

Everton's season has petered out in disappointing fashion with David Moyes' side now without a win since beating Chelsea on March 21, which has seen them drop out of the European places.

Prediction: Spurs 2 Everton 0

West Ham United v Leeds United

West Ham's three-game losing streak means they need to win this match and Spurs to lose if they want to avoid dropping down to the second tier for first time since 2012.

Leeds have ended the season in impressive fashion with Daniel Farke's side now unbeaten in the league since losing to Sunderland on March 3, although the German coach has said he will leave this summer if the club ownership fail to match his ambitions.

Prediction: West Ham 2 Leeds 2
