Result - Pakistan win by 127 runs

SHARJAH // Yasir Shah had Ben Stokes stumped then made immediately to grab one of the stumps as a memento as Pakistan sealed the Test by 127 runs, and the series 2-0.

Yasir’s extraordinary start to his Test career continued with another four wickets in this innings, all of them on the final day as England were hurried to their defeat.

England’s already slim hopes of a fairytale finish went when Alastair Cook was ninth out. The captain walked past an off-break from Shoaib Malik and was stumped by Sarfraz Ahmed, having made 63 from 164 balls.

Stokes went soon after, as the tourists fell to 156 all out.

Lunch – England 120 for seven, trail by 163 runs

Pakistan sped towards victory on the final morning of the Sharjah Test, as they picked up five wickets in the session.

At least England survived the session. That seemed a long way off when they lost four wickets within the first seven overs against the probing spin of Yasir Shah and Zulfiqar Babar.

Yasir trapped Joe Root (6) and Jonny Bairstow (0) leg-before, while James Taylor (2) was caught at slip by Younis Khan off Zulfiqar, who also got Samit Patel lbw first ball.

Added to Ian Bell’s duck the previous evening, it meant England’s five middle-order batsmen had contributed eight runs between them.

Adil Rashid showed some similarly plucky resistance to his effort on the final day in Dubai, before he was bowled by Rahat Ali for 22.

Alastair Cook, watching the clatter of wickets falling at the other end, went to 50 just before the lunch interval.
