India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja proved his worth on the field on Sunday as he took a stunning one-handed catch with the ball behind him during the second day of the second Test against New Zealand.
India seamers had made inroads into the Kiwi batting line-up in Christchurch before yet another lower-order fightback brought the hosts closer to India's first innings score of 242. All-rounder Kyle Jamieson (49), Colin de Grandhomme (26) and Neil Wagner (21) took the hosts from 153-7 to 235, which might prove to be the series defining moment.
New Zealand might have even taken a lead, had it not been for an acrobatic catch at square leg by Jadeja. In the 72nd over, pacer Mohammed Shami banged the ball in and Wagner went for the pull shot. Jadeja had just about enough time to take a couple of steps back, leap and take a one-handed catch.
It was one of the finest catches taken in the outfield in recent times, and brought back memories of England all-rounder Ben Stokes' stunning effort during the World Cup on home soil last year.
Then, during the match against South Africa, Stokes took a diving, one-handed catch at mid-wicket as Andile Phehlukwayo slog-swept Adil Rashid.
So, which was better? Take a look at the two catches and let us know below.
