Centre-back: John Terry (Chelsea). Jose Mourinho suggested his captain's performance against Arsenal was his best during his two spells in charge of Chelsea.

Centre-back: John Stones (Everton). Scored his first Everton goal and defended with precocious assurance as Manchester United's strikers were kept quiet.

Goalkeeper: Adrian (West Ham). Cemented his reputation as the best penalty saver in the division by keeping out Charlie Austin's spot kick for Queens Park Rangers to secure a point.

Right-back: Craig Dawson (West Brom). Helped snuff out Liverpool as West Bromwich Albion kept a clean sheet to edge closer to safety in the dullest of draws.

Left-back: Aleksandar Kolarov (Manchester City). The left-back scored City's second goal and set up Fernandinho's late winner with a corner against Aston Villa.

Right midfield: Marc Albrighton (Leicester). Delivered the most inviting of crosses for Jamie Vardy's goal as Leicester City triumphed at Burnley to record a fourth successive win.

Centre midfield: Gylfi Sigurdsson (Swansea). One of the division's most productive midfielders recorded another assist and another goal as Swansea City won 3-2 at Newcastle United.

Centre midfield: James McCarthy (Everton). Ran the midfield and scored the opening goal in a hugely impressive Everton performance as they beat Manchester United.

Left midfield: Charlie Adam (Stoke). Keeps on scoring special goals and mustered a spectacular equaliser to deny Sunderland three points at the Britannia Stadium.

Centre forward: Graziano Pelle (Southampton). After a largely barren 2015, the Italian returned to form with two well-taken goals in the 2-2 draw against Tottenham Hotspur.

Centre forward: Dame N'Doye (Hull City). Gave his club a lifeline in their relegation battle as his two goals secured an unexpected win over in-form Crystal Palace.
