A team of Real Madrid legends featuring the likes of Roberto Carlos, Christian Karembeu and Fernando Hierro will play against a Baniyas XI on Friday as part of the 44th UAE National Day celebrations.
The match, being called the the Baniyas Elite Cup match, takes place under the patronage of Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan at Baniyas Stadium. Kick off is at 7.30pm with free entrance for the fans.
The star attractions will be Brazil left-back Carlos, a World Cup winner famous for his powerful free kicks, and midfielder Karembeu who was part of France’s 2008 World Cup-winning side alongside Claude Makelele, who will also play on Friday.
Hierro is a former Madrid captain who played more than 500 games for the Spanish giants, winning three European Cups and five league titles.
Others involved include Jose Emilio Amavisca, Francisco Pavon and David Aganzo.
Meanwhile the Baniyas team will call on former player David Trezeguet who spent most of his career with Juventus. Trezeguet was part of the same France squad as Karembeu and Makelele that also won the 2000 European Championships.
Saudi Arabian great Sami Al Jaber, who had a spell in charge of Al Wahda last season, will also turn out for the UAE team.

How the bonus system works
The two riders are among several riders in the UAE to receive the top payment of £10,000 under the Thank You Fund of £16 million (Dh80m), which was announced in conjunction with Deliveroo's £8 billion (Dh40bn) stock market listing earlier this year.
The £10,000 (Dh50,000) payment is made to those riders who have completed the highest number of orders in each market.
There are also riders who will receive payments of £1,000 (Dh5,000) and £500 (Dh2,500).
All riders who have worked with Deliveroo for at least one year and completed 2,000 orders will receive £200 (Dh1,000), the company said when it announced the scheme.
