All-Britain clash as Tottenham are drawn against Hearts

Tottenham Hotspur and Heart of Midlothian will go head-to-head for a place in this season's Europa League after being drawn together in the play-offs yesterday.

Harry Redknapp's men qualified for the play-offs automatically and will travel to Edinburgh on August 18, with the return leg at White Hart Lane a week later.

Hearts, who booked their place in the play-offs with a 4-1 win over the Hungarian side PAKS on Thursday night, are now under the management of Paulo Sergio, following the shock exit of Jim Jefferies. It will be the first ever competitive meeting between the two side.

Fulham's reward for getting past Croatia's RNK Split with a comfortable 2-0 home win on Thursday night is a clash against the Ukrainian side Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk. Martin Jol's men have been in action in the competition since qualifying started at the end of June.

Glasgow Rangers, the Scottish champions, will look to put their Champions League disappointment behind them against Slovenian side Maribor. Darko Milanic's team won the Slovenian title for a ninth time last season, while Rangers were surprise casualties from the Champions League when they went out to Malmo in a two-legged play-off. Rangers' Old Firm rivals Celtic will need to get the better of Swiss side FC Sion. Stoke City are also facing a trip to Switzerland after being paired with FC Thun, with the first leg at Arena Thun.

Birmingham City, the Carling Cup winners who will compete despite their relegation to the Championship, face the Portuguese club Nacional. The Irish side Shamrock Rovers were drawn against Partizan Belgrade, with the first game due to be played at the Tallaght Stadium. Rovers were knocked out of the Champions League qualifying stages by FC Copenhagen on Wednesday.

Atletico Madrid, the 2010 Europa League winner, will face Vitoria Guimaraes, while last season's runners-up Braga play Switzerland's Young Boys, and the 2006 and 2007 winners Sevilla are away in the first leg against Hannover.

Schalke, Champions League semi-finalists last season, were drawn away to HJK Helsinki.

Roma host Slovan Bratislava, and Paris Saint-Germain are away to Olympiakos Volos, although Uefa could disqualify the Greek club as they are involved in a match-fixing investigation

How it works

Each player begins with one of the great empires of history, from Julius Caesar's Rome to Ramses of Egypt, spread over Europe and the Middle East.

Round by round, the player expands their empire. The more land they have, the more money they can take from their coffers for each go.

As unruled land and soldiers are acquired, players must feed them. When a player comes up against land held by another army, they can choose to battle for supremacy.

A dice-based battle system is used and players can get the edge on their enemy with by deploying a renowned hero on the battlefield.

Players that lose battles and land will find their coffers dwindle and troops go hungry. The end goal? Global domination of course.
