Al Joker retain their Nad Al Sheba Ramadan Sports Tournament futsal title

Two goals from player-of-the-tournament Miguel Sayago helped defending champions Al Joker down Al Habtoor and retain their Nad Al Sheba Ramadan Sports Tournament futsal title.

Al Joker, relying on swift counter-attacks, took an early lead through Brazilian Edelson Robson Dos Santos, but Leonardo Mendonca Da Rocha equalised for Al Habtoor soon after. Sayago, however, made sure the defending champions went into the break with a 2-1 lead with a sharp finish from an acute angle in the 19th minute.

Al Joker resolutely defended that lead through the second half before Sayago scored his second of the night in the 12th minute of the session, tapping home into an empty goal from a Marcenio Ribeiro Da Silva cross.

Earlier in the play-off for third place, YLS-1 drubbed Fohood Jumeirah 7-3, with Gelson Junior Saiotti scoring a hat-trick for the winners. Those three goals in the match helped the Brazilian finish at the top of the goal-scorers’ list for the tournament with 19 goals.
