Al Ain beat Al Nasr but more frustration for Al Ahli - The National’s AGL predictions

Kalba 0-2 Al Dhafra

The division’s bottom club have nothing to play for since their return to Division One was confirmed weeks ago, despite a recent improvement in performance. Dhafra, though, have provisions of a top-half finish.

Sharjah 3-1 Ajman

The hosts have stumbled through this season, but picked up recently before a couple of defeats. Still, they have too much for Ajman, whose fate – a place in Division One from September – will be sealed.

Al Nasr 1-2 Al Ain

The league leaders will find the trip to Al Maktoum Stadium more difficult than the form table suggests, although they should get the job done, with or without Asamoah Gyan.

Baniyas 1-1 Fujairah

This will not be one for the purists. Both sides are nestled mid-table, at eighth and ninth respectively, and will be keen to consign this season to memory. Fujairah, though, have won their past two matches.

Al Shabab 1-2 Al Wasl

Third meets fifth, with Shabab seeking to bounce back from last week’s 3-1 defeat to Emirates. However, Wasl are in fine form and will have enough firepower to emerge with the points.

Emirates 1-1 Al Ahli

There will be little relief for the champions. Emirates come into the match on the back of victory at Shabab, while Ahli will be jaded from a midweek to Uzbekistan. Should cancel out each other.

Al Wahda 1-3 Al Jazira

Another match-up between two of the league’s top-five teams. Jazira should come out on top, especially given their attacking talent, coupled with Wahda’s recent decline.
