Akmal has cordial meeting with board in bid to clear his name

Akmal, under probe over spot-fixing allegations, said he has presented details of his activities and property to the PCB.

Kamran Akmal said he has co-operated fully with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) integrity committee in an effort to gain clearance to resume his international playing career.

Akmal, who along with Shoaib Malik and Danish Kaneria has been probed over spot-fixing allegations, said he has presented details of his activities and property to the PCB.

"Whatever the PCB integrity committee has asked for, I have provided them," the wicketkeeper told PakPassion.net. "I have co-operated fully with the committee and I have presented all of the documents that they had requested."

Despite not having been charged by the board, the three players have not played for their country since their summer tour of England and were left out of Pakistan's tour of the UAE to play South Africa. Akmal hopes to be cleared in time to be named in Pakistan's provisional World Cup team, which must be selected by Wednesday.

He said his meeting with the integrity committee last week was cordial. "I hope now that this matter is behind me and that I can now be given approval to recommence my international career," he said.

"I've always tried to give my best for my country and will continue to do so in future."
