Abu Dhabi Sports Council and Mubadala have announced a Memorandum of Understanding to expand their community outreach efforts, it was announced in a release on Sunday.

Abu Dhabi Sports Council and Mubadala have announced a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to expand their community outreach efforts, it was announced in a release on Sunday.

In particular, the MoU includes cooperation on cycling events in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, a distance-running event, expanding and rebranding a local football competition as the Mubadala Community Football League and expanding the Mubadala Community Tennis Cup.

Of the deeper partnership, ADSC general secretary Aref Al Awani said in the release: “We are always keen on activating partnerships with governmental institutions, which contributes to strengthening the development of the sports and community.

“We look forward to working with our partners at Mubadala to build on the successes they’ve already achieved through their community engagement programme, by expanding this even further.”

Said Mubadala’s Khaled Al Qubaisi: “We have created community events and programmes in football and tennis to encourage the public to maintain an active lifestyle. This partnership with ADSC means we not only strengthen our existing community programme, but add exciting events and sports to our current offering, such as cycling.”
