The focus is on intricate brocades, dramatic silhouettes and Victorian touches this autumn/winter season, and our opening image for the Luxury magazine November fashion editorial captures this seasonal mood perfectly. Standing inside The Green Planet, amid a jungle of foliage, behind a romantic waterfall, our model exudes effortless elegance, with a regal, yet youthful, attitude. She wears a pink overcoat with a ruffled neckline crafted by Lebanese-Brazilan, Dubai-based fashion label, Aavva, and wide-leg trousers by Colombian designer Johanna Ortiz. Though the Aavva autumn/winter look book shows the overcoat paired with a ruffled tulle dress (which is featured on the cover of this month's issue of Luxury magazine, underneath a Fendi coat), we saw potential to give it an unexpected, and somewhat androgynous edge, and styled it with these metallic bell-bottomed trousers.
Although the look, as it stands, may not be easily adapted to evening wear in real life, elements from the ensemble can certainly influence our styling for formal occasions. Wide-leg trousers with dramatic, flared hemlines can look striking, and a hybrid, tuxedo-inspired dress with a high neckline and ruffled biblike accent can really make for an exquisite design. Play up the Victorian theme with layered chokers, cocktail jewels and a brooch or two for good measure.
