Our epic journey

The National is seven years old on Friday. This short period of time has been amazingly eventful for the nation and this newspaper has always been at the heart of the action, reflecting society, reporting events and raising awareness.

During the past seven years, the country has undergone a tremendous transformation – in society, in the economy and even in our city’s skylines. The cultural scene has grown, almost beyond recognition. The result is an increasingly dynamic society. We’ve also welcomed even more world-class sporting events to our shores in the past seven years, while music and arts have become more diversified and lively.

Journalism has changed, too, as newspapers all over the world adapt to the ever-growing demands of online. And regional events have thrust the Middle East to the top of the news agenda. In a region full of stories, The National has stood as a leading local voice with a global impact. Thank you for being with us for the story so far.
