UAE holds military funeral for martyred helicopter crew

A military funeral has been held for two UAE Armed Forces members martyred in a helicopter crash.

The ceremony for Capt Saeed Al Blooshi and First Lt Ali Al Tunaiji took place at Zayed Military Hospital in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.

Members of the UAE's ruling families and senior military officers joined family members at the funeral. The crew were martyred in a crash caused by a technical malfunction, the Ministry of Defence said on Monday.

Joining the Ras Al Khaimah Ruler and officials were members of Lt Al Tunaiji's family and senior officers and members of the armed forces and police.

Sheikh Saud said the sacrifices and dedication of the nation's martyrs in defending the UAE would remain a shining page in the annals of sacrifice and loyalty, and their memory will forever live on in our hearts, reported state news agency Wam.
